Volunteers needed! – 4th of July Parade

The annual 4th of July Parade is quickly approaching and we need your help to make it a success!

We have a variety of jobs available that you can choose from to help out. If we can get a lot of volunteers, it will mean less work for everyone. Briefly, here’s a description of the jobs available:

Barricades: Ensure that no one except those with parade entry, employee or handicap parking passes are allowed to enter the downtown streets.

Parade Lineup: Help organize parade entries in numerical order.

Crowd Control: Ensure the safety of parade watchers by keeping them out of the parade route (street). You can stake out your family’s spot and control the crowd around your group while watching the parade together.

Parking: direct folks to available parking and monitor status.

Cleanup: Folks are generally pretty good about using the trash and recycling containers, so clean-up goes pretty quickly – a good job for families! Pick up any litter on downtown streets and frontage of downtown businesses; move trash cans back to storage area; stack cones and barricades for maintenance crew to pick up, etc. Lots of hands makes light work for all!

If you can help anytime between the hours of 7:30 am and 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 4th please call me at 673-7304 or email: jbrown@ci.clayton.ca.us   If you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you!
