Contra Costa Countywide Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan

Project Overview:

To make walking and bicycling safer, more convenient, and more attractive, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) adopted its first Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan (CBPP) in 2003, and updated it in 2009.  The CCTA is now updating the CBPP to harmonize local plans for bicycle and pedestrian networks in Contra Costa, and to better understand where and how often people walk and bicycle in the county.  As the Congestion Management Authority for Contra Costa, the Authority is in a unique position to make walking and bicycling more accessible, connected, equitable, safe, and enjoyable modes of travel for all residents and visitors.
