Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

The goal of the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) is to develop a disaster-resistant region by implementing strategies regionwide that will reduce the potential loss of life, property damage and environmental degradation caused by natural disasters while speeding economic recovery as much as possible.

Led by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), the LHMP is being implemented by over 100 local agencies (cities, counties, special districts and utilities, etc.) throughout the Bay Area.  The strategies have been organized into 8 categories: Infrastructure, Health, Housing, Economy, Government Services, Education, Environment and Land Use.  The City of Clayton’s strategies can be found in the following PDF spreadsheets.
