Following the lowest snowpack ever recorded and with no end to the drought in sight, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. on April 1st, 2015 announced actions that will save water, increase enforcement to prevent wasteful water use, streamline the state’s drought response and invest in new technologies that will make California more drought resilient. It’s time to renew your conservation efforts and ensure you’re using water wisely. With the Governor’s and State Water Resources Control Board’s mandates on outdoor water conservation regulations, Contra Costa Water District has ordered residential water users consumption usage reduction by 25% and commercial water users (such as the City of Clayton) consumption usage reduction by 40%.
